WELCOME TO CARBROOKE VILLAGE HALL

Set in the heart of a lovely Norfolk Village and overlooking the beautiful Millennium Green, Carbrooke Village Hall is a traditional meeting place for the whole of the village as well as a perfect venue available for hire for events like parties, meetings and weddings. The Hall underwent some substantial improvements back in 2019 and now boasts a fully refurbished lobby, toilets, kitchen and a new disabled toilet. In 2023 we installed a new digital projector and screen.

The Hall has a programme of regular events including a coffee morning, craft group and yoga as well as a calendar of regular social events such as music nights. Please check our What's On page for the latest information.

In 2022 the Hall was able to secure a Grant form the Heritage Lottery Fund to convert the attached portacabin to a History and Heritage centre  which was launched at the Christmas bazaar at the end of the year. For more information about the Heritage Centre please visit the History and Heritage page.

HIRING THE HALL

The Hall is available to hire hire – and has always been very popular for children’s birthday parties and other celebratory events. We are also available to hire for meetings, wakes and outside clubs.

We are fully licenced and can provide a bar for adult events. Full details of hiring the Hall (capacity, hire charges, availability and booking conditions) can be found on our website.

For more information about hiring the Hall and booking conditions please visit the Booking the Hall page.

REGULAR CLUBS AND CLASSES

We currently have regular clubs and classes using the hall – including a coffee morning, yoga and a craft group that meets every two weeks on a Friday morning but we are looking to set up more. Following on from the popular Carbrooke Gardeners page on Facebook we are hoping to restart a gardening Club (there was one at the Hall until it folded several years ago.) At the Coronation tea we were also made aware of the needs of many of our older residents so we are working with the church and other organisations to launch a lunch club and a warm space for the winter for those that need it.

I have come down to coffee morning and walked into what can only be described as a conference meeting room or as one person said “are we having a seance “in the bar area. The idea of getting £1000 from the parish council was to replace the old furniture and make it more comfortable and appealing. Is this permanent or can we have the green chairs back as they are far more comfortable and provide a more social environment for those that use the area. This is not just my opinion, but from many that attended coffee morning today.

Not one person had anything good to say about the meeting tables. Goes to show how out of touch the committee are, maybe if the committee actually used the hall they would have a better idea. The original idea to “refurbish” the bar area was to make it a more comfortable and inviting space. Instead took money from the Parish Council instead of using own funds and then bought office furniture and left the dining chairs! What a joke!

Can we have our coffee tables back please. It’s not a very social feeling!

Very cold and unwelcoming, not an environment conducive to a coffee morning or even a bar. It's lost that homely, comfortable feel needed for social get togethers.

Cracking night so far, over 60 people here tonight at the village hall for our Reggae Night. Thank you to Terry M for DJ’ing the night away 🎵🎵🇯🇲 ... See MoreSee Less

Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II

By News Editor | September 10, 2022

A very sad day as we mourn the loss of our Queen, Elizabeth. Few of us remember a time when she wasn’t Queen. She has given us stability, and ruled with dignity and integrity, in the 70 years since her accession. In Carbrooke we haven’t many, if any actual ties with Queen Elizabeth II, but…
